How to Fix Gravity Forms Notification Email Issues in WordPress
Did you set up Gravity Forms and have everything working great…until it don’t?
Here are some quick steps to troubleshoot the issue and a solution.
Troubleshooting Checklist:
- Confirm that the notification email addresses in Gravity Forms are correct (do this with Step 2 below).
- From the WordPress Dashboard > Forms > hover over the relevant form and then hover over Settings > Notifications > Edit
- Do this for all forms
- If the form is only going to one email address, try adding another email address in the same domain (i.e. @mycompany.com) to the recipient list.
- Send a test form submission notification.
- Get all recipients to check their spam or junk folder.
- This is to confirm if the issue is associated with a single email or all emails.
- Send a test form submission notification to another email address under a different domain (e.g. @gmail.com).
- This helps to identify if the issue is associated with a specific domain, likely your company domain.
Solution: Use a secure email delivery service
Here what you need:
If you’re still having issues, you might want to consider a secure email delivery service like Postmark.
Gravity Forms has a Postmark add-on that allows you to seamlessly connect the two services.
You simply need to create an account in Postmark, download the add-on in Gravity forms and connect the two.
How to set-up your Postmark account
Be sure to follow the Postmark account set-up instructions. You’ll need to do steps 1-3.
Step 1: Create your account. This is pretty straight forward.
Step 2: Add your Sender Signature. Be sure to confirm/activate the signature!
Step 3: Add DNS records for each domain you’re using. You’ll need to do this with your domain name registrar.
Update your Gravity Forms notification settings
After you’ve installed the add-on, you still need to let Gravity Forms know to send the email from Postmark and not WordPress. You can find the instructions here.
Note that you will need to repeat this for ALL your forms.
That’s it! Send a few test emails and you should be good to go.
